Holiday Happy Hour

The winter holidays are so classic. There’s just nothing quite like that breezy nip in the air, the smell of wood fires burning, and—let’s not forget—all the tasty treats you could ever hope for.

3 December Treats to Serve at Your Holiday Party

Cold air, beware. If you’re a loyal follower, you may remember this silky-smooth cup of Red Wine Hot Chocolate from last December. It was so good we just had to share it again. We’ve waited all year for this!

There’s nothing to mull over here. We’ve perfected this mulled white wine recipe so that all you need to do is mix everything in a simmering pot, stir, and ladle out mugs of warm holiday cheer.

For dessert, pure decadence. These Chocolate Red Wine Truffles are melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Serve at your holiday party or wrap them up to send home with your guests as an elegant parting gift.

  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate
  • 8 oz bittersweet chocolate
  • 3⁄4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1⁄2 cup The Naked Grape Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • For topping: 1⁄2 cup cocoa powder or 8 oz melting chocolate and raspberry dust

  • In a medium-sized pan, combine butter and heavy cream.
  • Heat until butter is melted and bring to boil, stirring constantly.
  • Stir in vanilla and remove from heat.
  • In a separate mixing bowl, combine semi-sweet and bittersweet chocolate.
  • Pour hot mixture into the mixing bowl, over the chocolate, and let sit for 30 seconds.
  • Stir mixture until chocolate is completely melted.
  • Stir wine into the mixture little by little until all of the wine has been added.
  • Pour into 8x8 pan and refrigerate for 2-3 hours or until chocolate has hardened.
  • Using a cookie scooper, roll chocolate into small truffles.
  • Decorate by dusting truffles with cocoa powder or dipping in melted chocolate and sprinkling with raspberry dust.

Tis the season to indulge! Whip up these December delights, share with your friends, and you’re sure to have a holly jolly holiday. Need more snacks for your party? We shared 3 Autumn Tabletop Treats last month that we’re sure you could pull off for the winter season!
