Simple Holiday Sangrias

What are we drinking right this minute?

Surprise! It’s sangria…

No longer considered a summer-only drink, sangria transitions into colder months in a festive and fearless kind of way. Cold-weather sangrias are totally unexpected for entertaining and ideal for any holiday occasion. They’re a delicious way to wind down after a day of apple picking, hay-riding or pie-baking. Add a few plates full of munchies on the side and you’ve got an impromptu party in no time.

Sangria traditionally combines fresh fruit and wine for a colorful cocktail and you can add your own seasonal touches by using frozen berries, crisp apple slices, orange wedges or fresh pears. This time of year it’s fun to shake things up with deeper fall flavors like clove, nutmeg, cinnamon sticks, apple cider, maple, vanilla or ginger (ginger beer or ginger simple syrup are both fantastic additions!).

You’ll find our recipes are some of the easiest cocktails to make this holiday season and you can prepare them in advance by letting the flavors blend overnight in the refrigerator.

When you’re ready to serve, add ice to the pitcher and make them sparkle and fizz by pouring over sparkling water.
